Alberni Valley Employment Centre is the WorkBC Employment Services Centre for the Alberni-Clayoquot region of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.  Together with their Service Partners, INEO Employment Services and Community Futures, they are responsible for delivering the Employment Program of BC, providing employment assistance to job-seekers in Port Alberni, Tofino, Ucluelet and surrounding communities.

AVEC provides services for all your employment and career needs, including Job Search Assistance, Career Planning, Training Opportunities, Wage Subsidies and Self-Employment Services to eligible job seekers.

Visit one of their self-serve Resource Centres, where you can find job search information and access computers, phones, fax machines and photocopiers for job search activities.  Their helpful staff can assist you with updating your resumé and cover letter, help you with online job applications, and provide up-to-date advice on where and how to apply for jobs.

CLAYOQUOT BIOSPHERE TRUST

The Clayoquot Biosphere Trust (CBT) was established in 2000 to assist the Clayoquot Sound UNESCO Biosphere Reserve communities achieve their visions by providing funding and logistical support for research, education and training initiatives that promote conservation and sustainable development. The CBT is a member of the Community Foundations of Canada in 2012. As the region’s community foundation, the CBT works with individuals and organizations to build a region where all residents can succeed, contribute and develop their talents to their fullest potential.

The CBT has an annual Call for Projects where communities, educational institutions and registered charities are invited to submit proposals for funding. The CBT funds a wide variety of projects in four categories: Culture and Events, Youth and Education, Community Development, and Research and Environment.
